A Nocturne

When the night is too damned eccentric,
her reticent   probing shroud
plays provocateur with restless mind;
then I crave you like a narcotic,
to appear at my door wrapped
in naught but her solitude,
like a night song sweet   melodic-
to send her children    wayward
doubt and anxiety   to bed.
